Conversion of the Bon Secours site
Laureate of the 2014 competitive dialogue
By respecting and favouring Nouvelle Ville‘s qualities, the conversion of the Bon Secours block is a unique opportunity to improve the depreciated image of the neighbourhood following the disappearance of the Regional General Hospital.
Facing Saint-Thérèse-de-l’Enfant-Jésus, emblematic church of the 20th century designed by Roger-Henri Expert, the project is based on public spaces and their uses. In the continuity of NeueStadt plan, the project offers a certain centrality to the neighbourhood, identified and experienced as such by Metz inhabitants.
Major public spaces and equipments are linked by the “diagonale” : the Philippe de Vigneulles Place, the Parc Maud’Huy, and high schools Louis Vincent and Georges de la Tour. Dedicated to soft modes, the “diagonale”completes the public spaces network of Nouvelle Ville by opening Bon Secours onto its environnement.
The former German hospital is preserved and renovated to welcome new services.
